May Meeting Notes
Summer is well on the way, yet with the threat of non-stop rain, two new attendees managed to brave the weather for the May meeting.
Charlene is placing the finishing touches on her memoir and Alexandra, a well-known motivational trainer, is currently working on a self-help book. We look forward to hearing about and reading chapters from both books!

Field Trip Anyone?
Ever had a subject you wish you could get more hands-on information when the Internet wasn’t enough? Well…you’re in luck! Christy of the Gainesville Fiction Writers group is creating a field trip/research group for writers looking to get detailed info on a particular subject. Take a tour of a stable and get a crash-course in horseback riding, speak to a lawyer or law enforcement officer about changing an identity, or simply get a “behind the scenes” view of a restaurant kitchen. These are just a few samples but if this seems like an idea that’s right up your alley, stay tuned for more detailed info.
Judge…Judge…Who’s Got the Judge?
I’m taking a moment to toot my own horn in this section. I’m proud to say that I have been asked to be a judge for the final round of the Florida Writers Association (FWA) Royal Palm Literary Awards for 2009. I look forward to reading the adventures and personal experiences of FWA’s top writers.
That’s all for now, folks. Keep on writing and see you again soon.
